Shuttle is very hard to shift
My 4630 will operate ok for several hours and then just stop as if hit brick wall. Sometimes can change range shift and it will carry on but other times have to leave until next day to get it going. Have changed hydraulic/trans filter and it had plenty of oil. Any ideas please
Drain the fuel, disconnect the fuel line from the bottom of the tank and unscrew the fitting from the bottom of the tank and remove it completely. The screen strainer/filter on top of the fitting will build up with a tar like material that restricts fuel flow. This screen strainer is often negelcted as a maintainence item an will become partially clogged and get worse with use. I removed and cleaned the strainer on my 4630 and it solved the problem that you described. While not a guaranteed fix for your tractor inspecting and cleaning this screen should be added to routine maintaince.
My 1997 4630 does nothing when the switch is turned. New battery worked for 2 days, then it sat for 10 days and nothing. I put charger on and it shows battery is fully charged. 12.7 volts on volt meter. Also the lights are not coming on. I get continuity to the starter and solenoid from the battery. I struggle to get to the starter switch. Have taken all the bolts and screws out I can find and still can’t move the cover but a couple inches without taking the steering wheel off and haven’t tried that. YET. Any clues would be appreciated.
