After purchasing a skid steer, some people do not see the need of buying attachments that could enhance the overall performance of the machine.

It may be considered costly or unnecessary but investing in attachments such as a brush cutter can actually make your productivity with the machine higher. Some even decide to opt for cheaper attachments which again can be quite problematic as they may not be durable or of good quality.

Instead consider making a one-time investment into good quality products like the Wolverine Skid Steer Brush Cutter, which can reduce delays in workflow, increase productivity and make work simpler.

Below you will find an in-depth review of the Wolverine Skid Steed Brush Cutter, which may truly help you at the time of purchase.

What is the Wolverine Skid Steer Brush Cutter?

What is the Wolverine Skid Steer Brush Cutter

Let us first begin with understanding the role of a brush cutter. A brush cutter can seem quite similar to a line trimmer in terms of how they look, though it must be noted that a line trimmer has a nylon string inside that is used to cut grass and weeds.

On the other hand, a brush cutter has a blade in it which in turn, allows it to cut through comparably thicker greenery as well as trunks of trees that are about half a foot in thickness.

With brush cutters, you are likely to get more power as compared to trimmers. They are also considerably more versatile than line trimmers.

The Wolverine Skid Steer Brush Cutter is an excellent attachment with a 72” mowing deck that is an excellent choice if you want to get rid of those pesky weeds and undergrowth.

It is quite popular with several users, as it is considered quite reliable when having to cut through large patches. It has received positive feedback from users as provides their yards with a smooth finish, plus it is fairly easy to maneuver.

Additionally, though it may seem like an additional cost to the skid steer you already have, it is actually not that costly when compared to others in the market. One of the greatest things about this add-on is that it does not need a lot of time or experience to install into your skid steer.

It will, therefore, save you a lot of time and you will get to work faster. You will find little to nothing when it comes to reports of malfunctions and the strength of the frame is so long-lasting that you will find many users happily using the same machine for years.

One thing to be noted, however, is that maintaining the attachment is considered challenging by some users. You will need to allocate a decent amount of time for proper maintenance.

It is also recommended that you do some daily maintenance as well when it comes to the sharpness of the blade cutters. If not, grass and objects can build up inside the machine, clogging and overheating it till can not function anymore.

The brush cutter has a 72-inch width for mowing so it can come through a large area quite quickly. You needn’t have to spend too much time in one place.

It has a hydraulic flow range of 14 to 20 GPM, which is important to remember as you would need to check if it’s compatible with your skid steer before you decide on buying it.

One of the things that you’d really like about the Wolverine Skid Steer Brush Cutter is the fact that it’s capable of easily cutting through dense undergrowth thanks to its sharp blades.

This is not just your conventional lawnmower and can do an excellent job in limiting future regrowth and getting rid of those brush piles that are generally hazardous.

If you need a suitable brush cutter that is capable of helping you clean up trails and keep the space neat and clean, you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s an excellent option for users who need a viable solution for clearing up larger areas in a shorter timeframe.

Overall, the Wolverine Skid Steer Brush Cutter is a good addition to your cutting needs. It is sold and purchased across the nation and received in-numerous positive reviews.

The frame is wonderfully long-lasting and the bi-directional blades can efficiently clear most spaces. Additionally, it comes with a competitive price, so if you’re keen on sticking to a limited budget, this attachment is the right one for you.

How Does The Wolverine Skid Steer Brush Cutter Compare to Bush Hog?

How Does The Wolverine Skid Steer Brush Cutter Compare to Bush Hog

In comparison to the Bush Hog, the Wolverine cutter has some notable drawbacks. Firstly, despite having a smaller frame size and mowing deck, it has been noted as having a far better performance.

It has also been noted as having good quality and efficiency when compared to the Wolverine unit.  Additionally, you are guaranteed better customer support and a warranty from Bush Hog.

However, it has a higher price than the Wolverine, so if you have the budget, you can be sure to have a great time with this machine.

Conclusion

However, if you’re looking for a brush cutter for light work, the Wolverine unit will work well for you. It mainly has to do with the type of work you need this attachment for.

You should consider looking at your requirements, do some thorough research and speak to experts and friends, to see what the right purchase is for you. This will give you a better perspective on what you need to invest in.

  3. I have a wolverine brush cutter. No oil in gearbox when you purchase, blades fell off after first use. Now both blades broke off and cannot find any replacement parts. Would not recommend because of no costomer service or replacement parts.
