Tractor Protection Valve Leaking Air

- Check Connectors
It can be somewhat challenging to isolate the problem with the protection valve. But a good place to start can be the supply and delivery line connectors. If they are not functioning properly then you will notice that air is leaking from the supply line connector. Most of the time, you will be able to fix this problem by tightening up the connectors on both sides of the protection valve. However, if these connectors are damaged then you will need to buy replacements for your farming vehicle.
- Check Air Pressure
If the air pressure from the system is substantially above the defined limit, then it can lead to a leaking problem. You can use a pressure regulator and a gauge to check the air supply from the system. After determining the air supply, you can just bring down the pressure with the help of the regulator.
Installing a pressure regulator should help you fix the leaking problem if the protection valve is not damaged. You can use the pressure regulator to bring down the air pressure and check if the air is leaking. It is a good thing to also check the supply and delivery lines. Ideally, the problem should be fixed at this point.
- Replace Protection Valve
If there are no issues with the air pressure or the connectors then your protection valve might be damaged. Air can easily leak from the broken components of the protection valve and there is not much that can be done to fix this valve. So, if you’re unable to narrow down on the valve problem, then you might need to install a new protection valve on your vehicle.
You can easily install the protection valve replacement yourself. It is not that expensive and you won’t have to deal with the same problem for years. If you are not sure about how to install the protection valve replacement then you might have to take your machine to a workshop. You can also call a mechanic and he will take a look at the protection valve for you.
