Draxxin is an injectable solution for livestock that helps against several diseases. Each ml holds 100 mg tulathromycin. You must give 2.5 mg for every kilo weight, so 1.1 ml for 100 pounds It is given by one shot in the neck.

In livestock the injection happens under the skin of the neck. Do not put more than 10 ml in one spot. In pigs you prefer muscle input instead of under the skin.

How to Use Draxxin for Farm Animals

You put Draxxin under the skin in beef and non-lactating dairy cattle and in muscle in pigs for control of respiratory infections.

One shot of Draxxin gives until 14 days of treatment and control for bovine respiratory disease, or BRD. It relates to bacteria as Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni and Mycoplasma bovis. That long activity of only one injcetion genuinely eases the work in cattle farms.

Draxxin helps also against infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis, commonly called pinkeye, caused by Moraxella bovis. You can use it for interdigital necrobacillosis or bovine foot rot, bound to Fusobacterium necrophorum and Porphyromonas levii.

There are some important restrictions. Draxxin is not for cows of 20 months or older. It is for beef cattle, non-lactating dairy cattle and calves according to the producer.

The time before slaughtering matters. Treated livestock do not butcher for food during at least 18 days after the last dose. In pigs it is 5 days, in sheep 16 days.

Some sources mention 44 days for livestock, so always check the fresh label.

Use Draxxin in a whole program of cattle care. That can add environmental trends, for instance dry areas. Compared to others, the amount for Draxxin is little.

Nuflor requires more volume each pound, give it once under the skin or twice in muscle after 48 hours. Another product, Excede, gives only until 7 days of therapy by means of one shot, much less than Draxxin.

Occasionally you must add a second dose of Draxxin, if calves do not improve and stay weak or tired despite helps as good feed and qualityhay.
