Jasmine Plants truly need regular Water although finding the right amount means a bit of tries and failures. The ground should feel wet to your touch, but not soggy or too soft. Good starting points are to Water only when the upper inches of the soil mix dried fully.
During the summer months that could mean Water every second day or even everyday, depending on the heat and the moisture. Truly, the easiest way to check is simply put your finger in the ground and check its feeling.
How to Water Jasmine Plants
In most cases once a week works well. On the other hand, if you deal with very warm and dry weather, or if the Jasmine Plants sit in a jar where the moisture fades quickly, maybe you must increase the rate. When the soil dries more quickly than your weekly plan, there is no harm to Water some days sooner.
Overwatering however is truly a problem. Oddly, too much Water stops the plant absorbing it correctly. It seems weird, but it happens.
If the leaves become yellow or brown, suspect soaked ground or that it dried too much. While watering, give a full soak until Water spills through the drain hole, then pour away the built up Water in the saucer below.
Here is a good tip: judge Water according to wait. Pick up the jar when the ground is fully soaked and recall its weight, then do the same when it a bit dried. You want to let the ground dry until around fifty percent before the next watering.
The soil mix makes a big difference too. Jasmine Plants benefit from lightweight, loose material, think about perlite, peat or other mixes that drain quickly. Good drainage helps the roots stay healthy and stops decay.
While repotting, fill the ground until one inch under the edge of the jar. Do not leave a lot of empty space up.
Jars work great for Jasmine Plants, while they receive enough light and well draining ground. The plant needs at least four to six hours of direct sunshine daily, if you want it to grow and flower as it should. A south window or place with bright, filtered light works well.
Morning sunshine commonly gives the best results. Winter Jasmine Plants and some other types handle partial shade, but full sun truly brings more flowers.
Water Jasmine Plants follow a bit different rules. They like bright indirect light and ground that stays always wet, while it drains well. They also need humidity, so regularly misting or laying them on a plate filled with Water and pebbles helps a lot.
For average Jasmine Plants types however? Skip misting the leaves… It attracts fungus and diseases.
Small Jasmine Plants in a five-gallon jar without direct sun need around half a cup of Water all nine days. Star Jasmine Plants follow the same pattern. Just after planting the watering becomes even more important during the first year, to help them set the roots.
Keep in mind, that most Jasmine Plants types reach ten to fifteen feet tall and three to six feet wide whenmature, so their need for Water changes when they grow.
