To start with that, you will need to dig the hole about 6 inches deep and it should be at least 1 foot in diameter as well. After that, you will need to create a rough circle with 7 or more bulbs to be planted and plant the rest of your daffodils bulbs that you want to plant in the center. This will create the right clump as you want.
This way, you can be certain that a few of the daffodils will be growing together in the center and the rest will be surrounding them as well. This formation is also optimal for the perfect growth of these daffodils as they will have ample distance between them as well that is going to keep them from suffocating each other and give them enough space to grow to their full potential.
Not only that, but this way they will also be getting all the required nutrients and other essential elements from the soil along with the water so that they are not having any problem with them growing up.
After you plant the bulbs in the perfect formation, you will need to put the soil back on and after that water them.
