Petunia genuinely bloom when they receive enough sunshine. Minimum of six hours direct sunshine daily you must provide, but genuinely they most enjoy when they sit in full Sun during the whole day. If you give eight hours or even more, then you will observe clear increase in the amount of flowers.
Shade is the most ignored cause for them. Plants that grow in dark places, give much less flower and stay lower and weak. Big amount of shade causes long, thin increase, where the stem becomes slim and weak.
