💡 Tip — Overage Matters: Always add at least 10% overage buffer when calculating material needs. Uneven terrain, irregular edges, and settling can easily consume 5–15% more material than the raw math suggests. Slopes over 10° may need up to 20% extra.
💡 Tip — Weight Planning: Iron-based products (ferrous sulfate, iron oxide) are significantly heavier than compost-based fertilizers. One cubic yard of iron oxide powder can weigh over 1,400 lbs (635 kg), so make sure your vehicle and delivery method can handle the load. Compost blends weigh roughly half that amount.
