💡 Watering Tips
📌 Soil Check Method: Before watering, insert your finger 2 inches (5 cm) into the soil. If it feels dry at that depth, it is time to water. Monstera roots prefer to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot. Always water until water drains freely from the bottom of the pot.
📌 The 20% Rule: A general rule is to water with approximately 20% of the pot volume at each session. For example, a 10-inch pot holding roughly 2 gallons (7.6 L) of soil should receive about 0.4 gallons (1.5 L) per watering. This ensures deep root hydration without waterlogging. Adjust upward by 20% for terracotta pots and 30% for fabric pots.
Monstera Plants are famous tropical plants from Central America. One commonly grows this easily taken care climbing green plant in house thanks to its special look and the bright leaf-shaped sheets with those known windows. The plant benefits in bright, but no direct light and it requires humid and warm area for best growth.
Morning direct sun tolerates it only a bit, because too much stuff can hurt the sheets.
How to Water a Monstera Plant
Monstera Plants have average needs regarding Water. They favour regularity in watering, but dislike too much wetness. There is no precise recipe or amount for the Water or frequency.
Always deal about swing between too wet state and too much Water. Usually one should Water them one time per week, although some do that evrey two weeks or even three times. The main cause is not the frequency, but know when one Water.
Practical advice is add Water when the upper two until four inches of ground feel wet. More matter regular checks of the plant than set time. When one raises the jar, it can feel heavier, what signals knead of Water.
While watering, one should add until the excess spill through the drain holes. The whole soil must soak, no only tiny part. One can also soak from below, when the jar sits in a tray and absorb that, what is needed.
That mode ensures full soaking of the ground. After that, one dumps the extra Water from the tray. Tilting the jar in a 45 degree corner after watering help to escape control of extra Water in the soil.
Monstera Plants dislike overwatering. The jar requires good drainage, and the soil must quickly drain. When the ground too compacts or Water does not exit in the tray, alter to more draining mix is good notion.
Because they are plants with short roots in natural surroundings, Monstera Plants can not last entirely dry soil.
Yellow edges on sheets usually show overwatering. Weak, yellowing sheets or brown marks also can signal problems with Water. The good part is, that Monstera Plants are very tough plants.
They like humidity, so use a humidifier nearby. Regularfeeding is key element in attention of potted Monstera Plants.
