A UTV or a Utility Terrain Vehicle is designed to help haul supplies and equipment to other locations where it is possible to use a truck. These are built to accommodate a passenger seat, with a lot of space for storage.

There are different UTVs, but the most popular is the Kioti Mechron. These are similar to ATVs, with comfortable side-by-side seats in an open cockpit.

Buying the right UTV is often a challenging choice. While Kioti offers a great option for UTVs through their Mechron series, individuals have complained about experiencing problems with it.

If you consider yourself among these users, this article should help you figure it out. So, without wasting any time further, let’s get started!

Kioti Mechron Problems

  1. Wiring Issues

One of the most common problems that you can run into while using a Kioti Mechron is wiring problems. Many users have complained about certain wiring problems since their UTV stopped functioning.

Defective switches or wiring problems

You will have to check for all the wires to fix this manually. What you should be looking for are any signs of potential damage.

It is also worth mentioning that a bad wire can cause all sorts of issues. Therefore, checking voltage or power while checking the wires would be safe.

  1. Issues with the Brake

Another common problem that you can run into while using the UTV is the brakes. Surely, we can all agree on how annoying it can get to have your brakes not work when you push the pedal to stop.

Checking the brakes will require you to manually spot any damaged or faulty component that could be causing the issue to surface.

Likewise, if you are having a hard time trying to spot the issue, then you should try contacting a verified professional. That way, you should have a much better chance of getting the brakes fixed.

  1. Engine Issues

It is common to run into engine issues, especially if you are trying to operate any farming-related equipment. However, if you end up with engine-related problems on your Kioti Mechron, the spark plugs are the first that you should check.

A spark plug can potentially get damaged if the vehicle is not maintained. Luckily, a simple replacement should fix if that is what’s causing issues with the engine.

Likewise, any problems with the fuel filter clogged can also result in the engine not performing well.

  1. Keeps Losing Power

A common complaint that we have heard many users have is that the UTV keeps on losing power, especially on terrain with a certain height. If you notice your engine loses control or starts jerking, then you will have to perform a thorough inspection.

You must ensure that your Mechron has a hydrostatic clutch or is equipped with some reverse override feature.

  1. Fuel Supply Obstruction

Another potentially dangerous problem can be caused by a simple blockage in the fuel supply. If that is the case, you will have to replace any clogged or damaged parts that could restrict fuel flow.

To unclog and clean fuel, you’ll have to begin cleaning the filter.

Once you have done that, it is time to check any components inside the tank or tubing. It would help if you also looked at the carburetor to ensure nothing gets stuck there.

Hopefully, this article will help you figure out some of the most common problems a Mechron owner might encounter. Be sure to keep in mind that any form of malfunction can be fixed by replacing or repairing a specific component.

  1. The blades are not sharp enough.

The unit relies on sharp blades to perform its tasks. However, you may have trouble getting the job done efficiently if your blades are dull or damaged.

One potential solution to this problem is to sharpen your blades regularly or replace them as needed. This can be done either manually or by taking your unit to a professional for servicing.

If you are experiencing problems with your Kioti Mechron blades not being sharp enough, this may be due to several factors.

Some potential causes could include dull or damaged blades, an engine defect interfering with their performance, or a fuel supply obstruction.

Consider sharpening your blades regularly or replacing them as needed to avoid this issue. This can typically be done either manually by yourself or by taking your unit to a professional.

Another option is to check for any other issues that may be causing your blades to become dull or damaged. For example, you should check if an obstruction or defect in the unit’s engine could interfere with the blades’ performance.

  1. Prevent Overheating

One common problem that many Kioti Mechron owners may encounter is overheating. This can occur for various reasons, including poor maintenance, incorrect driving techniques, or defective components.

To prevent your unit from overheating, keep it well-maintained and in good condition.

This includes ensuring that all the parts perform optimally and that your blades are always sharp and in good condition.

It is also important to practice safe driving techniques when using your Mechron, such as avoiding heavy braking or accelerating too quickly.

It would help if you were sure to check for any defects in your unit’s engine or other components that may be causing your Mechron to overheat.

If you are experiencing overheating problems, it is important to seek help as early as possible.

This may involve servicing your unit or replacing any defective components causing the issue. You should also consult a professional mechanic for advice on preventing and addressing overheating in the future.

  1. Safety Switch Malfunction

If your Kioti Mechron is experiencing problems with its safety switch, there could be several possible causes.

Some potential issues include a defect in the safety switch itself, dirt or other debris blocking its operation, or a problem with the fuel supply causing it to malfunction.

To fix this issue, conduct a thorough inspection of the safety switch to determine if it is damaged or defective. You may need to replace the switch with a new one to restore its proper functioning.

Regularly check for any dirt or debris blocking the safety switch from working properly.

This could include anything from mud or grass to dirt or leaves that may have gotten stuck in the switch.

Make sure you don’t forget to check the fuel supply of your Kioti Mechron to see if there is any issue with its operation that could be causing problems with the safety switch.

For example, if you notice a decrease in performance or engine hesitation, this could indicate an issue with the fuel supply that needs to be addressed.

Suppose you cannot resolve this issue on your own. In that case, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic or service technician who can help diagnose and fix any problems with your Kioti Mechron safety switch.

They can help determine if an underlying problem with the engine itself, such as a defect or malfunction, is contributing to this issue.

With their expertise and guidance, you can restore your Kioti Mechron’s performance and get back to using it safely and effectively.

  1. Avail Warranty Service

If you are experiencing problems with your Kioti Mechron, it is important to take advantage of any warranty or service options available.

  1. Other Common Problems

While we have mentioned all the common problems you are bound to run into, there are still certain other issues you can often end up with.

For all such matters, we highly recommend that you thoroughly check all the crucial components inside the UTV. Look for any potential damage.

  1. I’m trying to find a service manual. My Mechron intermitently stops responding to the accellerator, i.e., the engine won’t rev. I can let it rest then it works fine upon restart a few minutes later. The engine light comes on and emits a code 43 (4 long blinks then 3 short blinks). My research indicates it’s probably a Throttle Control Sensor issue. But can someone please advise what code 43 means. Thank you!
